Family, History and Love

Wanda and I have been discussing, of late, the need to set down in writing some portion of our family history so that in the future our children and grandchildren will have the stories and tales of our lives direct from the source. The technophile that I am, I choose to do this online so that the what we write will be accessible and available for comment to our wider family (though I reserve the right to moderate those comments).

To that end, I have repurposed this blog. In coming posts, we will endeavor to provide an abridged story of our life (hey, everyone has their secrets). We're writing this for our children and their children and those that come later so elements of these tales will be familiar only to our family,

Weekend at Home

Oregon Country Fair 2006The weekend has been fairly low-key, mainly work on the house and watching a few movies. The weather hasn’t been very cooperative for photography lately, at least the outdoor photography that I prefer, so instead I spent some time on photo.net and on the photography-on-the-net forums helping out new photographers with their problems.

I did spend a little time scanning photographs from the past and getting them properly digitized and retouched. It’s an enormous project, but the process of scanning and retouching is somewhat soothing. I’ll post a few of those later when I see what looks best and is appropriate for sharing. After 30 years of photography, I have quite a lot of photos to scan and share.

For example, this photography is from the Oregon Country Fair in the summer of 2006. The fair is a great place for photography with so many people dressued up in bright costumes. I have been trying to more landscape, scenic and nature photography, but people photography still is my first and best love.
